Who We Are
Our mission is to end homelessness among families with children, one family at a time, by respectfully empowering them to achieve lasting independence and stabilization through a community-wide response from faith-based groups and civic organizations.
Family Promise is a nonprofit organization that helps homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. We partner with local congregations and community resources to provide shelter, meals, and support services such as job training and childcare. Our ultimate goal is to empower families to regain their independence and secure permanent housing.
The mission of Family Promise is important because it addresses the critical issue of family homelessness and its devastating impact on both children and adults. By providing temporary shelter, meals, and support services to families in need, Family Promise helps to meet their basic needs and provide a stable foundation from which they can rebuild their lives. This is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and ultimately helping families achieve sustainable independence and a brighter future. Additionally, the community-based approach of Family Promise fosters a sense of support and connection for families, while also engaging local resources and volunteers in the effort to end family homelessness.
